Vertical Lift Gates
The first Vertical Lift Gate manufactured by Davis Door was installed at an aerospace production facility in 1988 and operated 500-700 times per day. The previous door in that opening was made of steel and had to be completely rebuilt every 6-12 months. Building the new door out of aluminum reduced the weight by two thirds. This Davis Door Vertical Lift Gate was in service for 13 years with minimal maintenance.

Davis Door is also a service company, repairing and installing commercial doors and gates throughout Western Washington State and the Greater Seattle Area. Our service technicians and installers are instrumental in designing and improving our products. Their real-world insight has ensured our door designs are optimized for installation, maintenance and repair.
Sixty Feet
A Vertical Lift Gate is installed over 60 feet off the ground! A Seattle area airplane hangar wasn’t tall enough to fit a plane that needed to be repaired. Davis Door manufactured and installed a 37’ x 14’ Vertical Lift “tail door” that sits above the hangar door and opens independently to allow taller planes in and out.
